Each student has chosen an early American Explorer on which to write a report. As the students begin their reports, they will gather research notes and then organize them into a pre-write using Inspiration. This is my sample outline for the students to follow showing the questions needing to be answered about each explorer. Students will create a similar pre-write, substituting the information about the explorer in the place of the questions. We will do a sample report on Christopher Columbus together as a class so the students will know what to do for each step. (If you click on my sample, it will increase the size so you can see it better). They will be doing more research this week, work on the graphic organizer, then begin typing the report, complete with cover page. Hopefully the written reports will be completed and oral reports being shared by the 16th.
